The Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree program is designed to develop action-oriented managers and leaders who can lead themselves and others to effective business solutions. The program is intended to build upon the talents of students from diverse academic and professional backgrounds. Students have the opportunity to acquire professional competencies identified by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) and Argosy University’s Graduate School of Business and Management Professional Advisory Board. The curriculum is comprehensive in that students have the opportunity to explore business discipline areas, such as accounting, economics, human resources, leadership, finance, management, marketing, and the global dimensions of business. This application-oriented program is designed to help students develop competencies through critical thinking, persuasive communication, use of current technologies, knowledge of best practices, and demonstration of interpersonal effectiveness. The MBA degree program culminates in an applied Capstone project that requires students to integrate and demonstrate proficiency in core business competencies.

- A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution, a nationally accredited institution approved and documented by the dean of the Graduate School of Business and Management, or an appropriately certified foreign institution.
- A grade point average (GPA) on a scale of 4.0 as described below. Additional requirements may apply.
- 2.7 GPA for the bachelor’s degree, or
- 3.0 GPA for the last 60 hours of coursework (including graduate work), or
- Between 2.0 and 2.7 for the bachelor’s degree. Students admitted with a GPA between 2.0 and 2.7 must demonstrate 3 years of professional experience in business, industry, or a non-profit organization. Professional experience will be evaluated by the department chair or the department chair designee to ensure relevancy.
- A minimum score on an Argosy University pre-approved English language proficiency test is required for all applicants whose native language is not English or who have not graduated from an institution at which English is the language of instruction as specified in Section Five, Admission Policies, “English Language Proficiency Policy .”
All applications for admission must be submitted to the Admissions Department. An admissions representative is available to help interested applicants complete the following required documentation:
- Completed Application for Admission Form
- If the basis of admission is an earned bachelor’s degree with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher (on a scale of 4.0), an official transcript from the degree granting institution
- If the basis of admission is a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a scale of 4.0) for the last 60 hours of coursework, official transcripts from all post-secondary schools attended during the 60 hours of study
Applications to Multiple Campuses
Applicants who are undecided with respect to the location they wish to attend should submit an application and full set of application materials to their location of first choice. Applicants who are accepted into their location of first choice and who, prior to beginning the program, determine they want to complete the same program at a different location, should notify the initial location of record of that intent. Provided that the same program is available, all previous approvals and credit hours accepted will remain in force. If an individual requests to change programs, he or she will need to meet all admission requirements of the new program.
Students enrolled in the MBA degree program are eligible for graduation when the following requirements are met:
- Satisfactory completion of all requirements in the program of study.
- Satisfactory completion of foundation courses, if necessary.
- A minimum grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a scale of 4.0) and a grade of “B-” or better in all courses.
- Completion of these requirements within five years of matriculation into the program.
- A completed Petition to Graduate submitted to campus administration.
Foundation Course Requirements
Students enrolled in the MBA degree program are required to complete four foundation courses at the undergraduate level, one each from four subject areas. See chart below for the list of foundation courses and their equivalent competency tests and self-paced courses offered by the University. Students may fulfill the foundation course requirements by showing successful completion of academically equivalent coursework, passing a competency exam with a score of 80% or better, or passing a self-paced course with a score of 80% or better. Students will be notified during the admission process whether one or more of these courses are needed based on prior coursework.
