Program Overview
The Doctor of Education (EdD) in Educational Leadership non-certification degree program is designed for those students preparing for or advancing their careers as educational leaders in professional position as school district, regional, state or national administrators.
Eligibility for Licensure
The Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership degree program is not intended to lead to certification or licensure.
Program Learning Outcomes
Program Learning Outcome One: Demonstrate professional competence.
Program Learning Outcome Two: Use personal growth and interpersonal effectiveness to effect positive change in the lives of candidates and students.
Program Learning Outcome Three: Develop ethically and culturally responsive practices that acknowledge all facets of a pluralistic society.

Program Requirements
Students in the EdD in Educational Leadership degree program are required to complete 60 credit hours distributed as follows: core course requirements, 21 credit hours; research requirements, 12 credit hours; elective requirements, 3 credit hours; concentration requirements, 12 credit hours; doctoral research requirements, 12 credit hours.

Core Course Requirements
Students in the EdD in Educational Leadership degree program are required to complete seven core courses (21 credit hours).

Research Requirements
Students in the EdD in Educational Leadership degree program complete four courses in research (12 credit hours).

Concentration Requirements
Students in the EdD in Educational Leadership degree program are required to take four courses (12 credit hours) within the Higher Education concentration area.

Elective Requirements
Students in the EdD in Educational Leadership degree program are required to take one elective course (3 credit hours).

Comprehensive Examination
Students are required to successfully complete a comprehensive examination that focuses on the learner outcomes that are associated with the required core, research, concentration and elective courses of the program. Students must take the comprehensive examination in the last semester of the coursework (core, research, concentration and elective) and just prior to enrolling in the dissertation courses.

Students in the EdD in Educational Leadership non-certification degree program complete 12 credit hours of dissertation courses as outlined below.
