PP6650 - Working With Substance Use Disorders

3 credit hour(s)
This course reviews key concepts of substance abuse interventions, including theoretical models for understanding and treating clients with alcohol and other drug problems. Various screening and assessment tools, drug history, and interviewing skills will be demonstrated to help students assess the severity of addiction and develop a treatment plan. Effective inpatient and outpatient treatment for substance abusing clients and clients with co-occurring disorders will also be reviewed.
